There’s a lot of pain in life. More so than I could even begin to comprehend. I try to hide myself from it, or I’ve always been hidden; either way, when I am approached by that teeming monster, I learn a great deal about who I am. I don’t think it’s the event that pains us really, but the idea of our own misfortune, or of others’ misfortune, that consumes us. The mere existence of pain is what brings us to our knees. But what is more forthcoming of joy than pain? For without it we would drown in happiness, unaware of the beauty surrounding us. Or at least that’s what we tell ourselves.
Listened to this song a few months ago, didn’t think much of it at the time. I came back to it today and feel quite differently about it; the flute, the tempo, the melodic hum, it’s a mesmerizing song. Funny how music does that to you sometimes. Enjoy.
I don’t know what to say other than that Tom Misch is a stellar producer. His talent is undeniable and I am looking forward to seeing where his work goes. Shout-out to Rob for showing me this track by J∆YLIEN, which uses Before The Rising Sun as the beat. Unequivocally catchy.
We went sailing today and got to swim under a freakin’bat cave in the Caribbean ocean so that was really really really cool. Seeing the babies hang upside down and the bats frolicking and such. Here are some tunes I kinda wish I could have been listening to whilst swimming.
Bonus track – my favorite song fromOdesza’s set that I posted a couple days ago (almost 25 million plays on soundcloud… wow).
I was on soundcloud, scrolling through the related songs to a track I can’t remember the name of, and I came across a song by Oshi called Stop This Train. I thought to myself, “no way is this a John Mayer remix.” Alas, it is, and it is quite choice, my friends. The Trap Queen remix is pretty sweet too.
